Overview

Veḡ Vährx Dal̄ was founded durring the late 16th century in fall of the year 1498, by Anguipiones Nuldzafral. The establishment of Veḡ Vährx Dal̄ suffered from many setbacks, delays, and obsticles, most notably a group of Veḡ Vährx Dal̄ which required millitary assistance exterminate before the community could finish being built.

Veḡ Vährx Dal̄ was built using the conventions of Dwarvern durring the late 16th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Veḡ Vährx Dal̄ is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Veḡ Vährx Dal̄ is buildings are grouped arround an odd layout of spacious cobblestone streets, which seems to be based on an overlapping squair patern such that there are small squares at the cornor of every bigger square. Sometimes buildings exist in the smaller squaires, other times they are open spaces, or occupied by temporary structures. The city has a fortified albit thin brick wall. The wall has most of the feeatures of a typical castle wall, just on a much smaller scale and and budget. Notably brick isn't a particuarly soild choice for resisting siege weapons. Veḡ Vährx Dal̄'s wall wouldn't hinder a proper army, but it is more than sufishent for bandits and other small marauding groups. The monster and outlaw focused fortifications have not been wellmaintained over the years, and while functional are in dire need of some loving care and perhapse light renovation.

Veḡ Vährx Dal̄ has the unmistakable air of a city on its last legs. Everything is a bit slipshod and ramshackle. Everyone is at work, or drinking. No one has anything in their eyes other than fear and despair. Whatever industry once fueled Veḡ Vährx Dal̄ ’s existence has dried up and the city is drifting down the stream of history as it dries up. Even with that as it is, everything is just a little too worn down, a little too dirty, or much of both. The town should be gone, not dying. No one makes eye contact. Kids play quietly, but happily. Occasionally a passerby glances at you out of the corner of their eye, staring just long enough for it to be uncomfortable.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century, Veḡ Vährx Dal̄ was attacked by soldiers from another nation, waging a greater campaign. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Veḡ Vährx Dal̄ lost 170 people, 376 livestock, and 92 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 106, when members of Veḡ Vährx Dal̄'s militia enacted an operation to fortify a particular production site. The operation was complicated by a trusted officer who turned traitor and defects. The conflict ended with an assault and siege on the production site, which ended in defeat for Veḡ Vährx Dal̄'s forces. The war is remembered in legend by Veḡ Vährx Dal̄'s bards, historians, and legend keepers.
